CitySense Node Hardware Design

Node Hardware Design

Our current design includes the use of a NEMA-6 enclosure from PacWireless. We use the Alix 2d2 single-board-computer (SBC). Our power is supplied by an N2Power XL125 125 Watt AC to 15 VDC power converter that connects to city streetlight power. The extra power allows for the future addition of sensors with large power requirements.

The following images shows the latest node enclosure design. It includes the single-board computer (Alix 2d2), a 15 VDC power supply, a Vaisala GMP-343 Carbon Dioxide density sensor (0-2000 parts-per-million by volume), an 802.11 a/b/g (Wistron CM-9 100 mW) radio with an externally mounted 8 dBi omnidirectional antenna, an 900 MHz 802.11 radio (Ubiquiti SR9 700 mW) with a 6.5 dBi omnidirectional antenna.
